Snowdonia is a dark sky area with close to no light pollution, and so offers incredible views on clear, starry nights. A Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for bats is just 300-400m away, so on warm early evenings you can see them flying through the sky. Buzzards, Robins, Jays and many more local birds are often seen in the surroundings, and even a heron, kingfisher and otters can often be found near Hadfer. The owners here have done everything they can to create a true retreat, giving back to nature so you can enjoy all it has to offer.

A real retreat alongside Snowdonia National Park
Right between Snowdonia National Park and the Porthmadog beach, Hadfer’s convenient location offers plenty to see. Within 10 minutes you can visit the Italian-style tourist town of Portmeirion, the harbour town of Porthmadog, home to Criccieth castle, the Welsh Highland Railway, three beaches and two great little pubs. Half an hour away is the Pen y Pass, the beginning of the Y Wyddfa (Snowdon) walk, the Harlech Castle, Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Zip World Titan and more.
